Jong Jubal announces USA Tour 2018
Jong Jubal is proud to announce plans to travel to the United States and compete in the Drum Corps International competition during the 2018 summer. Jong Jubal will tour though a small region of the country’s east coast while competing in DCI’s Open Class competition.
Exact details and logistics remain to be discussed with Drum Corps International, yet the corps is planned to arrive in the Philadelphia area early august. After a few days of acclimation, the corps will debut its show on American grounds during the DCI Eastern Classics in Allentown, PA. From there on tour continues to Michigan City, IN to compete in the DCI Open Class championships, and it will be finished by competing in the DCI World Championships Prelims in Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN. The tour will be finished with a couple of free days, giving the kids the opportunity to watch the world’s best drum & bugle corps compete in the DCI World Championships Semifinals and Finals. For most if not all members this will be there first live encounter with the world’s best drum corps.
Doing a drum corps tour with members ranging in the age of 8 to 15 will be quite a challenge. World Class drum corps spent 12 hours a day rehearsing and mostly sleep at night on the bus. But we will aim at a maximum of 2 hours of rehearsal a day, while never traveling at night to ensure the members are getting at least 9 hours of sleep on the gym floor. Combining this with plenty of free days throughout the tour will ensure all kids enjoy their time and have no difficulty going through the process.
We have worked long and hard for this, and are very excited to finally be able to make the announcement. Looking at the recent successes the corps has had, the idea for a USA Tour popped up some years ago. We are sure it is going to be an unforgettable experience for members, staff and support crew!
